Detective Matt Rooney of the Gwinnett County police is assigned to the murder case of a John Doe. No identification, no normal means of determining who the victim might be. A missing person’s report from neighboring Hall County provides the first clue Rooney needs to make progress in his investigation.

Three women are found in the back office of a popular restaurant, brutally murdered. The way the women were killed leads Detective Rooney to believe it was a gang killing.
The killings appear to be a random act of violence until Rooney interviews a family member of the youngest victim. That interview provides the first credible lead to follow. The organized gang task force is called in to assist in the investigation and, after the victims’ funerals, pieces of evidence start to fall into place.
Lieutenant Orren looked at each of the people gathered in his office and began his briefing. “About thirty minutes ago the nude body of Chief Randall’s grandson was discovered by a traffic officer from South Precinct.
